The beginning of an adventure....

So I made the big step. I did it. I moved. The hardest part's over right?

Only time will tell if that's true or not. Based on my past few days of job hunting, I'm betting on the negative. But let's start at the beginning...

Jonathan and I left last Friday evening and had a pretty good trip up here until we got to Wyoming, where we ran into this..

The next 30 minutes consisted of 60mph winds, 6 inches of fallen hail, a tornado, a chipped windshield, and driving at 120mph. Needless to say, we got our feel of Wyoming! Despite this, we made it to our destination on Monday unharmed (though I can't say our nerves weren't completely shot!). Tuesday for me was spent unpacking; for Jonathan, things were a little more tedious...

He was a trooper, however, and completed this 6 drawer dresser, a side table, a bookshelf, and a desk! On Wednesday we were pretty worthless. I guess we had what J referred to as "roadlag." We walked around downtown and saw the river and a couple of the shops, but for the most part we slept: took naps and went to be super early.

The sad goodbye took place Thursday morning, although there was no true "goodbye." We just kind of left that unsaid. I busied myself with job hunting and found myself extremely discouraged by the time that 5 o'clock rolled around. Out of the 10 places I visited, only 3 said they were even considering new applications at the time. Today wasn't much better. I turned in another 5, but no one really wanted to sit down and talk about the application or consider me. Nonetheless, just when everything really sank in and I started to get really down, one of the managers I spoke with yesterday called to set up a second interview tomorrow. Talk about good timing! So for now, I can only pray that this job comes through!
